About Sarah

Health, Wellness & Fitness Champion

  • After fifteen years of International track and field I’ve decided its time to use my knowledge to share the love with you. As an Olympic athlete my life has been about maximising every training session to complete goals and be at my pinnacle condition at competition time. My approach has relentless hard work, constant learning and having fun along the way. I’ve had both some of the best and most challenging moments in my life through sport but I have loved every minute of this incredible journey. Through my own sporting journey, my life as a Mum and physiotherapy practice I have a unique skillset to help others in their own health, wellness and fitness journeys.

Presenter, Guest Speaker & Columnist

  • As an Communications Graduate I love connecting with people. I have a wealth of experience as a presenter, guest speaker and columnist. I am currently a New Zealand Olympic Ambassador and have spoken to over 20,000 New Zealand school children with the Olympic Education Programme. I am also a presenter in the Oceania region for the International Olympic Committee, Athlete Career Programme. I am proud to be the Fitness Expert for the Healthy Food Guide contributing on a monthly basis.

  • Since 2013 I have had the privilege of being an Independent Celebrant of New Zealand. I work with couples to create personal wedding ceremonies which reflect the couples relationship and set the tone for their wedding day. It is a honour to help be part of peoples magical day. More about Sarah

I grew up in Rotorua, New Zealand in the middle of two competitive boys in a sporty family. I always wanted to keep up with them or better yet be in front. I have a lot to thank them and my parents for developing such a determined spirit within me. Nowadays we are each other’s champions, all on our paths but never forgetting where we have come from.

Loves

I grew up with a love of playing sport outside with my family and friends. Today I still love doing this or talking about sport. I find solace in drinking tea and being absorbed in a great book. I find great satisfaction in a delicious meal with loved ones. I find peace in the ocean.

Living

Every breath is a privilege and every day is a present so I love to live. Living to me is the simple stuff most importantly making time for the things and people you love. I want to make the most of every day and live hard.

Legacy

My late Dad moved to New Zealand from Samoa when he was seven years old. My grandparents sought a life of more opportunities for their children and their children’s children. My family legacy is hugely important to me and helps drive me to keep going after what’s important and looking after others. I will never forget the courage of both of my grandparents to leave their homeland in search of more.
